Hi! I’m Amanda Jonasson!
First and foremost, I am a mom. I have two kiddos that keep me on my toes and barely let me sit down – Nixon, who is 8.5 and Alivia who is 6.
I am wife to Corey, or as most of you know him by his business name – COJO Photo, which is how Baby COJO came to life. Corey taught me how to use a camera in our back yard, with the pretenses of getting me to come along and spend wedding days with him. And it worked! We spent many seasons working full time jobs, and working weddings on the weekends, and our evenings were meetings, editing, etc. We loved it.
Then I got pregnant with our son. I couldn’t shoot as many weddings, and couldn’t come along on as many shoots. But my love for newborns took over.
I slowly started dabbling in the newborn photography field – but wow, is it completely different than weddings! You have to dive right in, and invest in the props, and skills. I am constantly growing, learning and evolving.
I have been doing newborn sessions full time for over 6 years now. After my second child was born, it was my little escape from everyday parenting monotony.
You can generally find me at home, with my kids, in my office working, or having a ridiculously long shower while I internet shop.
I love coffee (especially a good latte), wine, I’m a sucker for anything chocolate, and I have an almost insane addiction for Burts Bees lip chap. I have them strategically placed all over- including in my camera bag!
I really love meeting new little babes, and getting to sneak in the little cuddles while doing wrap or set changes during a session, and I’ve had some of the best conversations with the new moms I meet.
On the day of your session, you will find me in a top knot, and dressed in black - for a couple reasons, so I don’t put a color cast onto baby from the reflection of my clothing, and because I heat up my work space, I sweat ALOT, and also because I have the baby nude, I get peed on - often.
